Young Executive Minds (YEM) Empowers South African Youth with Financial Literacy Training in Dobsonville, Soweto

Soweto, South Africa – Young Executive Minds (YEM), a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged youth and fostering future C-suite executives, took a significant step towards their vision on the 2nd of December 2023. The organization, led by founder Kekilwe Ndaba, who also serves as the Provincial Chairman of the Informal Economy Development Forum (IEDF), hosted a crucial financial literacy training session at Dobsonville, Soweto.

YEM’s overarching vision is to uplift and empower the downtrodden youth, creating a pathway for them to become future leaders in the corporate world. Recognizing the dire state of youth affairs in South Africa, particularly in townships, the organization is committed to revolutionizing local economies through targeted youth empowerment programs.

Kekilwe Ndaba, a prominent figure in the informal economy development economy, emphasized the importance of proactive measures in addressing the challenges faced by the youth in South Africa. By combining forces with the IEDF, YEM aims to bridge the gap between formal and informal sectors, providing young entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge needed for success.

The financial literacy training hosted on December 2nd focused on equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills to maintain organized financial records. Recognizing the prevalence of informal and micro youth businesses, YEM understands the critical role that financial management plays in the sustainability and growth of these enterprises.

Participants in the training gained insights into budgeting, record-keeping, and financial planning tailored to the unique challenges faced by informal businesses.
