Informal Economy Development Forum Joins Forces with Global Women’s Development Network

The Informal Economy Development Forum (IEDF) is proud to announce a strategic partnership with the Global Women’s Development Network (GWDN). This collaboration underscores the commitment of both organizations to empower women engaged in the informal economy and enhance their economic opportunities.

The partnership between IEDF and GWDN marks a significant step forward in fostering gender inclusivity and economic development within the informal economy, which is home to a substantial number of women worldwide. Together, these organizations will work towards creating meaningful change, advocating for policies that support women’s economic participation, and offering resources to facilitate their entrepreneurial and employment opportunities.

Key Objectives of the Partnership:

Empowerment of Women: IEDF and GWDN are dedicated to providing business women and  workers with the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to improve their livelihoods.

Advocacy: The partnership will amplify the voices of women in the workforce, advocating for policies that address their unique challenges and opportunities.

Research and Data Collection: Collaborative research initiatives will aim to gain a deeper understanding of the role of women in the informal economy, their contributions, and the specific barriers they face.

Training and Skill Development: Programs will be designed to enhance the skills and capabilities of women working informally, increasing their economic independence.

Networking and Support: The partnership will create networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and a support system for women to exchange experiences and best practices.
