Youth Networking Event

I am Asonele Melapi. I am the founder and Chairperson of the Nokwanda Patocka GBVF Foundation, Regional Secretary of the Women’s Sector Council, the Eastern Cape Head for Baphi Abafazi Movement, Youth Chamber Council committee member, IEDF Ambassador,  GBV Ambassador for SAPS and The Herald Citizen of the Year Award Winner 2023 🥇

As the Ambassador of the IEDF, on the 6 & 7 June I hosted a networking event that aimed to capacitate the Youth, SMME’s (Small businesses), informal traders in receiving funding from our Government and Private Sector Stakeholders. The event was a success with over 8 Stakeholders in attendance and over a 100 community members. This was a great opportunity for our communities in teaching them on how to be independent and making their own income. They learned how to be compliant on Funding Applications, Financial Management, about the opportunities available to them and how to get to them. This is one of Pillar 2 objectives in creating preventative measures in curbing the scourge of GBVF. Creating a financially independent Youth and Community and to alleviate the Crime rate in our South Africa is my main objective. With hosting these events I am contributing to that change.
