IEDF launches free business training for 50 000 Informal Economy workers.

The Informal Economy Development Forum (IEDF) is excited to announce the launce of its free education programme for 50 000 informal economy workers across South Africa.

IEDF has secured a collaboration with an industry leading online college; eLearnSA to host these online training sessions over the next 12 months, to the value of R10 million.

eLearnSA has multi-year experience in providing and hosting online study modules and is perfectly positioned to deliver these courses to informal economy workers.

Human Resource Management, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Management and Business Administration, and more, will be made available via the IEDF App.

Paul Bester, the Secretary General of the IEDF, noted as follows: “Education is the cornerstone of any society. For years informal economy workers have been treated as third class citizens in the community and training and education was kept at arm’s length. We, as the IEDF, are making sure we are bridging the divide in this regard.

Quality education increases opportunities for employment, and are fighting unemployment in South African head on. As unified informal economy we hold the key to solving the scourge of unemployment which is threatening our woman, youth, people with disabilities, and the future of our country. We challenge Government and Corporate SA to join us this fight by directing opportunities for training and investment to the informal economy
