MEDIA RELEASE – 4 August 2022

Cape Town, 4 August 2022 – The Informal Economy Development Forum (IEDF) has noted with shock and despair, the current crime situation in South Africa.  The level of violence in these crimes is worrying,

The brutal Gang -Rape on the eve of Women’s Month in Krugersdorp, will leave a lasting scar in the minds of law-abiding citizens.

As IEDF we appeal to SAPS to leave no stone unturned in finding and bringing  to book the perpetrators of these hideous crimes, so they can feel the full might of the law.

For too long we have been held hostage in our communities, and this has impacted the lives of all citizens and the informal economy at large.

We call on all South Africans to report crime and be part of the solution to fight and eradicate crime in our communities.

As we celebrate Women’s Month, we want to re iterate that we all need to rise up against  the scourge of Gender Base Violence.
